The case secures with an updated push-button latching system that uses compressive force to tightly clamp the case shut on three sides. This edition of the 1607Air comes lined but without foam or other inserts, allowing you the freedom to completely customize the roomy 21.1 x 15.8 x 11.6" interior to your specific needs and to your specific gear. Carry your case using one or more of the three overmolded handles or if it's too heavy, extend the pull handle and tow it behind you on its two low-profile, quiet-running wheels.

Designed for their 1607Air case, the Pelican 7-Piece Foam Set can be used to replace the foam that came with your case, or if you need to put different gear in it than you originally intended, or as an option if you bought the case without foam. This set consists of a convoluted eggcrate foam lid insert, a base layer for the bottom of the case, and three pieces of customizable Pick-N-Pluck foam. Pelican recommends that you leave at least an inch of foam between your gear and the inside walls of the case to make sure it is well protected.
